About

Thanks for visiting my blog. My name is Bryan Morrow and I currently work for a Managed Security Service Provider. I have worked seriously in the Technology field for around five years but have dabbled with computers in general since about 1997. I started out playing online games like Diablo and Ultima Online and decided it would be cool to build my own computer. Once that computer was completed I never really stopped learning about computers.

I have been with my current company for around five years and in that time I have learned more about technology than I did about any subject previously in my entire life. The first two years I started out doing LAN installs and the ongoing support of those networks. I learned a lot about my troubleshooting skills in this two years and also my disdain for working on servers. This led me to firewalls, I started out with the Watchguard which was our product of choice and then certified in the Sonicwall. In my third year I joined the Managed Services piece of my department which was delivering performance and patch management for a some of our customers. One of my responsibilities on this team was the management of all our VPN tunnels on our ASA5520. Before this I had no real experience with Cisco equipment except seeing the WAN engineers work on them.

So I started learning the basics of VPNs and studying for the CCNA. I figured I better know the basics of Cisco networking before I jumped into the higher level stuff like the ASA and IPS. That started me down the path I am on now in studying for the CCIE Security. I currently have the CCNA, CCSP and have passed the CCIE Security Written Exam. Also while studying for the CCIE Security lab I will be trying to take the CISSP in December. I have already taken a CISSP course (which I was asked to audit) so it will mainly be brushing up on the small details of the exam.

Again, thanks for visiting and please check back regularly.
